Global Paws is one of the most reputable pet travel companies worldwide and we were the first IPATA member in South Africa. Global Paws is a family business that was established in 1989 together with Snowpine Kennels and Cattery. Since then Dean & Izabella Emin, happy husband and wife team, bought Global Paws. A growing demand for Global Paws services and our entrepreneurial skills took us on a journey to develop Global Paws into todays most used and trusted South African company. We successfully operate from offices in Johannesburg & Cape Town and co-ordinate shipments to and from almost every African country through our established network of African agents. We are surrounded by an amazing team of animal lovers, who we can trust, rely on and adore for their dedication and commitment to their daily work. Every decision we make is based on this statement as we honestly believe that a pet completes a family. Every day we send or receive pets, either from international or local destinations, and see that the reunion with our beloved furry friends is a very emotional and rewarding event for both the pet and its family. We are very open minded people with lots of vision. This year we are introducing two new services: The Traveller Welcome Pack & The Pet Protection Plan. Our Animal Handler will walk and water your dogs before booking them into their flight. All pets have to be booked for their flights several hours before their departure time. Tip: Please do not feed your animals a large meal on the day of departure; a small snack or treat is more suitable. We run a loan travel box system between our two branches: Johannesburg & Cape Town. If we cannot get your pet into a required location it is because there is a special embargo or restriction, not because we don’t know how. We will apply for your import permit and upon arrival in South Africa we will meet the incoming flight and liaise with the state vet and customs officers to clear your pets into South Africa. We need to know your routing and travel paperwork status to be able to supply you with the most effective service and an accurate quotation. Import & Onward flight: this option is recommended for all the cats and dogs from non-quarantine countries. Upon arrival of your pets in South Africa we meet the incoming flight, clear customs and deliver your pets to our kennels for a warm meal and a cosy overnight before their onward flight. In the next day or two we would book your pets onto their connecting flight to your final destination. Country destination Health Certificate (it can be done at the origin or in South Africa) Complying with both country requirements: South African and destination. Transit, without the ability to leave the airport in South Africa: this option is recommended for all dogs that require quarantine upon entry into South Africa or dogs from non-quarantine countries that do not have the required blood testing done for South Africa. Upon arrival of your pets in South Africa we meet the incoming flight, clear customs and arrange for the onward flight to their final destination. Destination Country’s Health Certificate (has to be done at origin) South African Health certificate, including blood testing for dogs (only if destination country is a SADC country) Upon arrival of your pets into South Africa we meet the incoming flight, water and feed your pets and if possible take your dogs for a walk before the 2nd leg of their journey.
